Dr. Allen K. Barclay grew up on a farm southeast of Macomb, IL. He attended Macomb School throughout his childhood before graduating from the University of Illinois in 1979. He first practiced veterinary medicine in Murrayville, IL for 2 years before moving to Bushnell, IL. He has been a veterinarian for 38 years and an owner of Bushnell Veterinary Service since 1982. Dr. Barclay is married to Donna who is also employed at BVS as the Practice Manager. They have 2 daughters, Courtney (Jon) Linnemeyer and Krista (Chris) Jamrose and two grandsons, Harry Linnemeyer and Connor Jamrose. They all reside in Downers Grove, IL. Dr. Barclay enjoys following University of Illinois Fighting Illini Athletics and traveling. He is a member of the Bushnell First Presbyterian Church and a charter member of B-PC Education Foundation. Dr. Barclay and Donna have one pet at home, a miniature Schnauzer named "Livvy".
Dr. J. David Huston grew up northwest of Bushnell in southern Warren County. He attended grade school in Roseville, IL. Dr. Huston received his Bachelor of Animal Science Degree in 1977 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1981 both from the University of Illinois. He later received his Masters Degree and did a large animal residency at Purdue University in Indiana. Dr. Huston has worked at Bushnell Veterinary Service since November of 1997 and became a co-owner of the business in 2000. He is married to Suzanne who works at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, IL and together they have one son, Mark, who resides in Champaign, IL. Dr. Huston loves to travel and engage in outdoor activities. He is a member of the Administrative Board at his local church. He has one cat at home named "Simon".
Our 3rd Co-owner of Bushnell Veterinary Service is Dr. Shawn N. McKim. Shawn grew up near Brimfield, IL and attended Brimfield Schools. He got his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2000 from the University of Illinois. He started working at BVS right after school and has been a vet for 17 years. He is married to Cara who is a Vet Tech at Spoon River Animal Clinic. They have 3 children who keep them very busy - Ethan, Reagan and Tate. Shawn enjoys playing with his kids and working on projects at home. Shawn and his family attend Checkrow Community Church. They have one dog, an English Shepherd named "Scout", a cat named "Books" and numerous chickens.
